Job Summary

Makes personal sales call to customer sites to generate revenue, seeks out new business opportunities and aids in future sales forecasting.  Drive wire net profit up by 25%. Serves as an Account Manager resource with the provision of technical expertise and consulting over the phone and at customer sites.

Responsibilities

Essential Functions

  • Focuses on multiple product lines or service capabilities, using this broad focus to become a technical expert internally and with customers.
  • Accountable for growth of specific product lines within the company, based on the increased sales. 
  • Stays abreast of changing customer trends, new product developments, and other industry changes that will provide opportunities for business growth with new and existing customers.
  • Works to gain a complete understanding of a customer’s industry; understand the issues and opportunities they face and their key success factors to aid in implementing solutions to increase customer profitability involving area of focus/product line.
  • Understands and manages a wide range of customer needs, and effectively uses resources and expertise to achieve strategic results.
  • Serves as a specialist to complement the “generalist” nature of Account Managers (AM), providing them with technical insight.
  • Attends meetings and job sites visits to an AM’s account to provide additional expertise and consultative skills to the customer.
  • Generates profitable sales orders.
  • Seeks out prospective customers and business opportunities with existing customers. 
  • Secures mutual business through joint calls.
  • Communicates service capabilities to the customer and in-turn communicates the customers short term and long term needs to the team.
  • Project Tracking
  • Drive Account Manager Support and Wire Sales Strategy
  • Coordinate Commodities Support, Inside Sales Support and Wire team support and the on time completion of project
  • Driver overall wire strategy and support teams
  • Work closely with Branch and Sales Leadership on strategies and execution of wire fundamentals resulting in improved wire net profitability in the Kansas/Missouri area.

Non-essential Functions

  • Attends training as needed to develop product knowledge.
  • Available to be called upon by any geographical market for technical assistance, and then case-by-case assistance in the field.
  • Provides accurate account planning to aid in the sales forecasting and budget creations.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience at an electrical distributor required.
  • A technical degree or applicable experience may be considered.
  • Experience working at a manufacturer, distributor or end user of the selected products line preferred.
  • Field experience preferred.
  • Comfortable with computers and other technology used in day-to-day activities.

  • Ability to use communication tools to manage information and priorities prompt and professionally.
  • Excellent customer service skills include being competent, accurate, responsive, and engaged.
