Job Summary

Supports the day-to-day operations of the IT Operations Team by administering company EDI systems.  Provides day-to-day technical leadership for the IT Operations Team. Plans, analyzes, configures, tunes, and troubleshoots EDI systems. Installs, upgrades, and maintains EDI Systems. Develops and maintains technical documentation for EDI process flow, troubleshooting and problem resolution, monitoring capacity and performance, and related disaster recovery procedures. Monitors and troubleshoots EDI transactions both in SAP and in EDI system, and recommends remedies to eliminate reoccurring errors.

Responsibilities

Essential Functions

  • Provides day-to-day technical leadership for the IT Operations Team with an emphasis on continued growth, maintenance, and operation of our EDI Technologies. 
  • Plans, analyzes, configures, tunes, and troubleshoots EDI systems. 
  • Installs, upgrades, and maintains EDI Systems. 
  • Interfaces with the full cycle of EDI projects, including customer/vendor contact, working with IT Applications team to define requirements, creation and testing of EDI maps and on-going support. 
  • Develops and maintains technical documentation for EDI process flow, troubleshooting and problem resolution, monitoring capacity and performance, and related disaster recovery procedures.
  • Leads and supports IT projects defined by supervisor and IT Project Management team.
  • Recommends and applies technical changes into the environment using a structured approach that minimizes risk and achieves high reliability, availability and performance of the EDI systems. 
  • Designs, develops and implements plans for trading electronic documents via the most efficient and economical methods available.
  • Sets up new trading partners, develop mappings, review error list and enhance the EDI platform. 
  • Monitors and troubleshoots EDI transactions both in SAP and in EDI system, and recommends remedies to eliminate reoccurring errors.
  • Works with end users and other team members to provide production support and issue resolution.  
  • Develops and follows checklist procedures for proactive monitoring. 
  • Leads resolution of incident tickets, including complex troubleshooting across all managed systems. 
  • Resolve system problems through research and collaboration with other IT Teams and apply the appropriate course of action. 
  • Develop and maintain effective working relationships with customers, vendors, and others related to the company; promote and maintain the identity and reputation of BSE, ensuring customer satisfaction and addressing problems and complaints as they arise.
  • Supports technologies including; EDI System – Seeburger Business Integration system, SAP ECC system, other middleware systems, other software infrastructure systems

Non-essential Functions

  • Assists in annual budgeting process and tracking of expenditures. 
  • Provides phone support as part of the IT Helpdesk. 
  • Performs off-hours support as needed for various system activities. 
  • Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor or designate.

Qualifications

  • Four-year degree in computer science, information systems, or management information systems or the equivalent in work experience. 
  • 3+ years’ experience working with EDI application and specifically with SAP backend system. 
  • Knowledge of EDI terminology and X12 and/or XML standard formatting languages. 
  • Experience in process design is helpful. 
  • Knowledge of EDI communication methods, such as AS2, FTP, etc.
