Job Summary

Oversees Business Analysts, Project Managers and Strategic Enablement (SE) processes, while supporting the development of business cases and management of projects to create and capture value.  Partners with key organizational leaders, enabling them to achieve priorities, goals and business results for each initiative. Responsible for leading, planning, monitoring, and directing strategic projects and pillars. Leads the expansion, auditing and refining of BSE’s Project Management and Business Analysis methodology for all aspects of a project throughout the request and project lifecycles (initiate, plan, execute, control, close and value realization). Ensures all projects are tracked and managed to budget, staff and work plans.

Responsibilities

Essential Functions

  • Represents BSE Strategy Enablement (SE) department and BSE in professional manner that represents company’s mission, culture and integrity
  • Actively engages, collaborates and leads a diverse population including but not limited to vendors, BSE employee owners and all levels of management including executive level 
  • Drives the development, improvement and adoption of BSE’s SE processes
  • Continues educational growth in areas of service and product industries BSE engages
  • Continues growth in the professional area of project management, demand and capacity planning, business analysis and value realization through development and maintenance of professional peer networking and consumption of educational materials
  • Develops and maintains strong and collaborative partnerships with BSE employee owners to develop and execute on approved business initiatives
  • Leads the expansion, auditing and refining of BSE’s Project Management and Business Analysis methodology for all aspects of a project throughout the request and project lifecycles (initiate, plan, execute, control, close and value realization)
  • Meets financial objectives defined in analysis and project execution
  • Leads and collaborates in the identification (internal and/or external) skills and resources needs as well as monitor and control resource allocation with support from respective department managers by providing constructive feedback to team members and department managers on performance during request and project activities.  
  • Facilitates open dialog to foster trust and transparency
  • Serves as a leader and collaborator within and between the SE and the business units throughout the request and project lifecycles through continuous communication activities and facilitation of active engagement
  • Positively represents the SE organization by serving as the prime SE contact to the business units 
  • Constructs and delivers presentations in various formats to various audience, including executive leadership, with a focus on initiative and value status
  • Ensures that strategic initiatives are processed through the SE pipeline and decision is documented
  • Ensures clear communication and organizational change management for SE strategic
  • Ensures projects are formally closed and accepted and where appropriate, subsequently reviewed, value is calculated, and that lessons learned are captured for use on other initiatives
  • Drives continuous evaluation and improvement of the SEPM and SEBA process to align with industry best practices and BSE needs
  • Directs SEBA to identify strategic opportunities and articulate business value and barriers in a compelling Business Case
  • Leverages Project Managers to lead projects through completion and facilitate transition to Process Owner
  • Collaborates with project stakeholders at all levels to ensure clear roles and responsibilities 
  • Understands and plans for operational and back-office impact of major initiatives
  • Ensures all projects are tracked and managed to budget, staff and work plans

Non-essential Functions

  • Provides mentorship to other SE project managers and SE business analysts.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor or designate.

Qualifications

  • Required Bachelor degree 
  • Minimum of 8 years of project management experience as the lead project manager 
  • Experience as a program or portfolio managers preferred
  • Excellent customer service skills include being competent, accurate, responsive, and engaged
  • Advanced knowledge of project management, methodologies, practices and standards as defined by the Project Management Institute, exposure to one of the following methodologies (Agile, Scrum or Six Sigma) preferred
  • Advanced knowledge of business analysis methodologies, practices and standards as defined by the International Institute of Business Analysis, exposure to one of the following techniques (Agile, 5 whys or SCRS) preferred
  • Ability to read, write and speak in English required.
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Access, PowerPoint, Project), Internet, and Email
  • Intermediate knowledge of Analysis Tools and Templates, preferred
  • Requires advanced oral, written and presentation skills, with minimum 2-3-year experience presenting to executive leadership
  • Requires minimum 2 years providing management to direct reports
  • Requires minimum 4 years providing management to indirect reports
