Pay Range: $103,832.56 - $150,000.84 annually
*Individual compensation is determined based on several factors, including job-related skills and qualifications, education, relevant experience, work location, internal equity considerations, and the overall responsibilities of the position.
Job Summary
Supports the day-to-day operations of the IT Applications Department by providing development, maintenance, and support of SAP applications. Collaborates with team members and other departments to develop, maintain, review, analyze, modify and support business applications change requests including configuration, enhancements, upgrades and testing to support our integrated business processes. Collaborates and advises with Applications team members in areas assigned on project needs to understand requirements, development, and estimate solutions in an organized manner. Conducts and participates in technical walk-throughs and identifies and resolves application issues.
Responsibilities
Essential Functions
- Works with and collaborates with team members and the ERP Center of Excellence to determine how technology can best be used to enable or enhance business processes.
- Adheres to Border States Electric SDLC best practice guidelines, standards and application change management procedures.
- Performs impact, systems and feasibility analyses when designing and developing business requests.
- Conducts technical walk-throughs with team members.
- Creates technical documentation to describe program development, logic and coding.
- Researches and recommends new solutions to enhance the value of business systems.
- Diagnoses performance issues and debug integrated software solutions.
- Determines standards, best practices and procedures for Applications Team.
- Takes lead role on large project implementations working with contractors (both on and offsite) and ensures assigned duties are being performed.
- Researches and recommends potential vendor solutions, provides formal recommendations to IT and Business Management.
- Proactively puts forth recommendations to address forecasted risks and changing technology environment related to job duties.
- Stays informed of evolving technology trends, best-in-class processes and innovations.
- Works with technologies like REST, SOAP, JSON, XML, XSLT, XSD, Odata, etc., to design, map, configure, develop and test SAP integrated solutions using SAP Cloud Platform Integration toolsets.
- Enhances SAP standard functionality leveraging standard enhancement framework – user exits, BADI’s, Enhancements (Implicit and explicit).
- Develops and customizes existing processes using ABAP and other SAP development tools and technologies which will include: IDOC’s, dialog programming, userexits, ALV, BAPI’s, BADI’s, enhancements, RFC’s, reports (Classical and Interactive) SapScript, Smartforms, and Data Dictionary.
- Works with the SAP Mobile Platform to support, maintain, and enhance our hybrid mobile applications for signature capture.
Non-essential Functions
- Communicates best practices across area of responsibility and participates in continuous improvement of IT processes.
- Provides advanced support with assisting the IT Helpdesk.
- Performs off-hours support as needed.
- Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor or other designate.
Qualifications
- 4 Year STEM Degree or equivalent experience.
- Minimum 5+ years of SAP development work experience.
- Good working knowledge of PC, Windows, Microsoft Office (Excel, Access, Word and PowerPoint), Internet, and Outlook.
- Demonstrated knowledge of software development best practices for the entire SDLC, including coding standards, code reviews, source code management, build processes, testing, and maintenance.
- Advanced knowledge and experience in ABAP programming.
- Experience designing and maintaining Core Data Services (CDS) views and Odata services.
- Advanced understanding of relational databases and client-server concepts and commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures.
- Advanced knowledge of optimization concepts.
- Advanced knowledge of object-oriented programming concepts and design.
Preferred
- Experience with SOAP and REST based services, and API design.
- Experience with SAP Cloud Platform and services including Cloud Platform Integration, API Management, Mobile Services, Intelligent Robotic Process Automation, WebIDE or Business Application Studio, etc
- Experience creating side-by-side extensions on SCP and in-app extensions on S4HANA.
- Development experience across multiple functional areas (MM, LE, FI, HR, SD).
- Test driven development and agile development methodologies.
- Advanced knowledge with HTML5, CSS & JavaScript.
- ABAP Restful application programming experience.
- Experience with SAP Fiori and SAPUI5.
