Job Summary
The Senior Master Data Management (MDM) IT Business Analyst supports the day-to-day operations of the Master Data Management (MDM) Team by leading requirements discovery, process analysis, testing strategy, and implementation support for integrated business application solutions aligned to business priorities. Acts as a senior leader on the Master Data Team to determine how process, data, and technology can best enable and enhance business operations. Maintains and governs documentation and supports applications with a focus on integrated business processes, data quality, governance, and user adoption. Leads complex, cross-functional initiatives through the project lifecycle while maintaining high customer satisfaction. Proactively researches, recommends, and helps implement process improvements, emerging technologies, and vendor solutions as they relate to MDM and company best practices.
Responsibilities
Essential functions
- Provides guidance and functional direction to teams and departments to resolve complex business processes, data, and implementation issues.
- Leads creation, governance, and maintenance of documentation including current-state and future-state workflows, business rules, process standards, testing artifacts, training materials, and end-user documentation to ensure consistent adoption and operational alignment.
- Partners with developers, data stewards, and business stakeholders to translate business needs into clear functional requirements, business rules, user stories, and implementation priorities.
- Owns analysis of how data moves into and out of the MDM system, including file-based processes, integrations, business impacts, and downstream dependencies.
- Leads governance and standards development by creating, maintaining, and enforcing enterprise data management policies, process standards, and documentation frameworks to ensure consistent adoption and alignment with MDM and business objectives.
- Collaborates with stakeholders to ensure solutions, workflows, and requirements are aligned with business objectives, strategic priorities, and operational readiness.
- Leads the review, analysis, writing, and coordination of thorough change request test plans, test cases, and validation checklists to ensure system changes function properly, existing processes remain unaffected, and business needs are met.
- Provides functional expertise in integrated business application processes and serves as a trusted liaison between business stakeholders and technical teams.
- Facilitates requirement sessions, process reviews, solution discussions, and decision-making meetings with internal teams and external vendors.
- Leads vendor coordination activities, validates deliverables against requirements, and communicates status, issues, risks, and recommendations to leadership as needed.
- Partnering with DEV(s), maintains business continuity and disaster recovery documentation as it relates to functional processes, testing activities, and associated applications.
- Develops and maintains strong working relationships with customers, vendors, data stewards, and cross-functional business and IT partners, serving as a trusted advisor within area of responsibility.
- Adheres to Border States application change management procedure.
- Follows security best practices to ensure the safety and integrity of applications.
- Provides input on the development of best practices for the IT organization.
- Provides support by working escalated incidents as part of the IT Help Desk to ensure business operations are not interrupted or delayed and during off hours as needed.

- Participates in, creates, contributes to, and/or facilitates ongoing training related to application functionality, business processes, data governance, best practices, and lunch and learn topics in correlation with job duties.

Qualifications
- 4-year degree in business, information systems, data management, computer science, or equivalent experience
- Minimum 7 years of SAP and/or Stibo experience.
- Minimum 5 years of experience gathering, analyzing, and documenting business requirements, process flows, use cases, and business rules, preferably in enterprise application or data environments.
- Minimum 3 years of experience working in or supporting agile teams and leading cross-functional initiatives.
- Demonstrated ability to translate complex business rules and requirements into functional specifications and support technical solution design.
- Experience leading testing activities, including test planning, test case development, defect management, and user acceptance testing.
- Experience facilitating stakeholder discussions, driving decisions, and communicating recommendations to leadership.
- Ability to read, write, and speak in English required.
- Strong understanding of MDM and data governance best practices.
- Good working knowledge of PC, Windows, Microsoft Office (Excel, Access, Word, and PowerPoint), internet, and Outlook.
- Experience with MDM platforms, data mapping, workflow tools, or business process documentation tools strongly preferred.
- Project Management Certification, CBAP, CCBA, or similar business analysis certification is a plus.
