Job Summary

The Supply Chain Analyst will play a pivotal role in evaluating and improving the company’s distribution network and facilities. This role combines analytical rigor with practical design thinking to optimize network structure, facility layouts, and operational performance. Using both quantitative and qualitative techniques, the analyst will develop data-driven insights, build models, and maintain critical master data to support informed decision-making across the supply chain

Responsibilities

Essential Functions

  • Evaluates the current and future-state supply chain network, including facility locations, inventory positioning, transportation flows, and service coverage.
  • Builds and maintains network models to identify opportunities for cost reduction, service improvement, and increased resilience.
  • Analyzes vendor flow pathing, transportation modes, and inbound/outbound optimization strategies.
  • Supports the design and improvement of branch facilities and yards, including layout planning, space utilization, racking design, and workflow optimization.
  • Develops facility sizing models aligned with growth forecasts, product mix, and network strategy.
  • Assists with the development of enterprise facility design standards.
  • Incorporates operational efficiency, safety, and regulatory compliance into all facility design recommendations.
  • Applies statistical and simulation techniques to model scenarios, evaluates alternatives, and recommends supply chain improvements.
  • Translates complex datasets into clear, actionable insights for leadership.
  • Supports strategic projects with cost-benefit analyses and performance metrics.
  • Collects, validates, and maintains facility master data, including square footage, clear height, dock capacity, and equipment specifications.
  • Gathers and maintains product volumetric data, such as weight, dimensions, and handling requirements.
  • Ensures data integrity, accuracy, and accessibility for use in network modeling and facility planning.
  • Partners with operations, procurement, IT, and other stakeholders to align network and facility design initiatives with overall business strategy.
  • Prepares reports, dashboards, and presentations to communicate findings and recommendations to technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Travel 15-25%

  • Collaborates with other supply chain practitioners in industry including other distributers, vendors, and customers.
  • Assists and supports other projects as needed.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, industrial engineering, operations management, or related field.
  • 2+ years’ experience in supply chain design, facility design, or related role. 
  • Proficiency with data analysis tools (SQL, Excel, Power BI) and supply chain modeling software (e.g., Llamasoft, AnyLogic).
  • Experience with lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other process improvement methodologies preferred.

  • Strong communication and presentation skills with the ability to convey complex information to a variety of audiences.
  • Ability to translate complex data into clear, actionable information for stakeholders.
  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
  • Root cause analysis and continuous improvement mindset.
  • Strong understanding of the impact of supply chain decisions on overall business performance.
