Job Summary
The Area Operations Support Coordinator provides flexible, hands-on support to branches across the region, stepping in quickly to assist during staffing shortages and operational disruptions. A key part of the role involves training new employees in critical frontline positions, including Warehouse Associates, City Desk staff, and future Customer Service Representatives (CSRs). The coordinator also plays a proactive role in identifying and supporting service opportunities, such as wire cutting for data centers and assisting with large-scale projects. This includes helping set up value-added services like kitting and project management—key differentiators that support sales efforts and reinforce Border States’ value proposition to customers. The position ensures smooth operations, consistent onboarding, and a high standard of customer service across all locations.
Responsibilities
Essential Functions
- Collaborates and acts as a support liaison with the Area Director and Branch staff.
- Partners with the team to assist with operational and project-based initiatives.
- Supports the implementation and training of new processes, systems, and company-wide rollouts.
- Serves as the location’s training coordinator regarding SAP, PC, products, and policy & procedure related issues.
- Provides hands-on assistance with wire cutting operations during staff shortages or transitions.
- Serves as a cost-effective staffing solution during vacations, transitions, staff shortages or hiring gaps—reducing the need for temporary agencies.
- Leads training sessions for both new hires and existing team members.
- Ensures consistent application of company best practices across all locations.
- Develops the skills and knowledge required to serve as a local extension of the central services team.
- Deploys quickly to branches within the area to minimize service disruptions and maintain customer satisfaction during operational challenges.
Non-essential Functions
- Assists with organizing internal events, meetings, or team-building activities.
- Provides support for local marketing or community engagement initiatives.
- Participates in cross-functional committees or pilot programs as needed.
- Creates or updates internal documentation, manuals, or training guides.
- Maintains non-critical reports or dashboards for internal reference.
- Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor or designate.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; Associate degree or higher preferred.
- 2+ years of experience in operations, logistics, warehouse, or multi-site support roles.
- Proven ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong understanding of warehouse, inventory, or branch operations.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Willing and able to travel between branches within the assigned area.
